A MUDGEERABA man is behind bars after two women he allegedly confronted on the
streets turned the tables on him. Police say the 34-year-old man drove up
beside a 15-year-old girl and a married woman on separate occasions and
threatened violence when they refused to get into his car.
Both times his
car numberplate was photographed by the women.
The man was arrested on
Tuesday and charged with public nuisance, threatening violence and
Yesterday the Southport Magistrates Court was told the man
drove up to the girl at a bus stop on Saturday and tried to trick her into his
car by saying her bus had been cancelled.

him allegedly threatening to break her neck if she went to police.

without paying for fuel.
Solicitor Joe Wicking sought bail but police
prosecutor Sergeant Jim Pedlow opposed the application. "The allegations
are disturbing," he said.
Magistrate O'Driscoll said the man was a risk
to the community and of reoffending and refused bail.
The case will
